Annual Research Program
A Research solves a problem through a process of gathering knowledge. It is crucial for learning, making informed decisions identifying knowledge gaps while contributing to the development and advancement of knowledge in various fields. Research, of course has been an integral and very essential part of human life for a long time. The Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary defines research as “a careful study of a subject, especially in order to discover new facts or information about it”. For the Cambridge English Dictionary, research is “a detailed study of a subject, especially in order to discover (new) information or reach a (new) understanding.” In brief, research is a planned, creative and a systematic study or an investigation of a selected area or subject matter.
With respect to the Buddhist world, research on Buddhism encompasses a broad field requires exploring its history, philosophy, practices, and its impact while it claims interdisciplinary approaches and diverse perspectives. The emphasis on mindfulness, impermanence, and non-dogmatic approach in Buddhism are major aspects create considerable impacts on the modern world. Due to these incomparable features in Buddhism it has reached the minds and hearts of the global community becoming indispensable for a happy life.
Therefore, conducting research on the existing knowledge gaps promoting the authenticity, identity and factuality of Buddhism is needed progressively. Pali and Sanskrit Cultural Exchange Centre (PSCEC) is on the verge of conducting unique and exceptional research which would excavate the factual knowledge helpful in bridging the gaps among different Buddhist traditions existing in the world. Additionally, PSCEC would gladly assist scholars from any country for such studies within the capacities uniting the Buddhist world.
