Buddhist Studies

Buddhist studies, also known as Buddhology, is the academic study of Buddhism. According to Joseph Estlin Carpenter, it is the study of Buddhahood, the nature of the Buddha, and the doctrine of the Buddha. From an academic perspective, Buddhology focuses on history, culture, archaeology, arts, philology, philosophy, practices, theology, ontology, anthropology, and sociology.

The Pali and Sanskrit Cultural Exchange Centre focuses on multidisciplinary work related to every Buddhist tradition in the world, facilitating the study of the various Buddhist schools presently existing, such as Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana.

PSCEC invites scholars, researchers, and students from every corner of the world to study, teach, research, and experience an environment enriched with the philosophy, theology, philology, ontology, and practices of all Buddhist disciplines, based on their history, culture, arts, and archaeology.
